Sierra nova Sterling

I was born and raised on the sunny Gold Coast, always surrounded by beauty. As I grew, I had a creative family who inspired me through art and music, especially my dad, being a talented artist, and my mum, who has always been a keen photographer. My grandparents were both involved in the the arts and music when they were younger too. My grandmother was a singer in her youth and ended up running a successful entertainment booking agency here on the coast. I’ve been gifted many cameras in my life but cherish the ones handed down by my grandparents most of all.

I love working with digital, but especially adore 35mm film, as I enjoy the tangible process and the quality it gives the photographs. I also like to adapt old film lenses onto my mirrorless cameras to create a naturally dreamy, retro feel in my photos.

Casual snaps and street photography are some of my favourite images to take, as I strive to capture my world in beautiful ways, often finding striking compositions in unlikely places. My most favourite subject matter to capture though, is live music. I live for the energy, emotion, and unpredictable nature of it.

I currently work as a lab technician/salesperson in the photography industry but am excited to be doing more of my own creative work!
