Wish You Were Here Festival - March 2026
Wish You Were Here Festival, built around the idea of connection, is a space you go to for art, music and community. The artist-founded project has now hosted three events, with most of the work driven DIY by a core five-person team. Their dedication is evident in every detail, from the intricate decorations and thoughtfully crafted stages to the strong lineup.
Arriving in the late afternoon, I was greeted by a custom sign along with decorations filling the space. The site was already alive, with people taking pictures, catching up with friends, and settling into picnic blankets and chairs. As the sun dropped, fairy lights warmed the space, and colourful lights spilt onto the trees above. People gathered in pockets around the food truck, merch stalls and art tents.
The female-led lineup brought together a group of passionate and inspiring local artists. With two stages, sets flowed from one to the next, keeping the music and energy going seamlessly. Performances felt real and vulnerable, as well as fun, chaotic and cathartic at times.
This set of images aims to capture the feelings of the night: joy, connection, freedom and expression.
Congratulations to the Wish You Were Here team for putting on such a special event. Keep an eye out for what they do next!
